Making is the production of relations through material events. What I think is emerging is an ontology of making. The clay isn’t the subject. The object isn’t the outcome. Yesterday I was able to hear a talk by Greg Payce at my college. He uses intricate templates to create incredible vessels that explore the idea of the space in between. He spoke about animation and its influence on his work, as it often tells a story and there is a progression of the figure.
