Sander Steins was born in April 1973 in Nijmegen, the oldest city of The Netherlands. When he was only a child it was already a challenge for him to create his own world on a blank piece of paper. Worlds in which not only his fantasies were depicted, but also showed a strong analytical view that surfaced in collages of self-made cities and countries at a very young age.
These days Sander uses not only a pencil but also his photography, paintings, drawings and photo manipulations to create new visual worlds. He is mainly interested in the darker subjects and rich contrasts of our modern society. As an artist he is interested in crossing borders within the painting and manipulating areas
