Working Title : A Hidden Curriculum/ Architecture without Architects, staged in the library.
Duration 25minutes.
Personal inquiry into learning environments
through art based practices. A learning environment was set up using materials from the immediate surroundings and others from a personal biography of current concerns. These objects and their new relationships were an attempt to start an inquiry from which to promote a sense of participatory speculation with other members of the group. The eclectic collection of objects, books, drawings, raw materials and fragments where an attempt at laying down an “archaeology” of concerns interwoven as both research and practice. Members of the group were not encouraged to work as a group dynamic, rather to find their own “interests” into the situation. Some members of the group naturally became collaborative in a mutual inquiry, others remained solitary and absorbed by their own “questioning”. The learning situation took on a complexity of its own making, it seem to creatively engender dialogues, new forms, without becoming managed by the examination of known objectives or outcomes. There was a sense of reinvisioning the vocational, the vernacular and the local, but still crucially affirming global concerns.
